Scoliosis
Gentle, Targeted Care for Spinal Curvature and Discomfort
If you or your child is dealing with uneven posture, one-sided shoulder height, or back discomfort, scoliosis may be the cause. Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine curves abnormally to the side, often appearing during childhood or adolescence. While it can vary in severity, scoliosis can affect posture, balance, and overall function if left unaddressed.
At Optimal Level Chiropractic in Windermere, Dr. Delinette Rodriguez offers personalized chiropractic care to help manage scoliosis and reduce related pain. Whether caught early or noticed later in life, scoliosis can be treated with noninvasive care that supports spinal health and improves quality of life

Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that most often develops during periods of rapid growth. It may occur with no known cause (idiopathic scoliosis), as part of a congenital condition, or in connection with other neuromuscular disorders like cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy. Adults can also develop scoliosis due to aging, injury, or spinal degeneration.
There are different types of scoliosis, but common symptoms include:

Uneven shoulders or hips

One shoulder blade that appears more prominent

A visible rib hump when bending forward

Back pain, stiffness, or muscle fatigue

Limited range of motion

While idiopathic scoliosis (with no known cause) is most common in children and teens, scoliosis can also be linked to:
- Neuromuscular disorders (such as muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy)
- Congenital spine malformations
- Spinal injuries or fractures
- Arthritis-related degeneration
- Poor posture over time
- Leg length discrepancies
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Spinal tumors or deformities
At Optimal Level Chiropractic, Dr. Del uses precise, gentle chiropractic adjustments to help reduce pressure, improve mobility, and support spinal symmetry. Chiropractic care does not “cure” scoliosis but may slow progression and help relieve the discomfort associated with spinal misalignment.
Benefits of Chiropractic Scoliosis Care

Reduction of muscular tension and back pain

Improved posture and body balance

Increased range of motion and flexibility

Noninvasive, drug-free support for spinal health

Better function and mobility over time
Through targeted chiropractic adjustments and personalized care, we aim to reduce that pressure, restore proper alignment, and improve spinal function giving your body the tools it needs to heal and recover naturally.

Identify the Source
We begin with a full consultation and exam to assess spinal alignment, range of motion, and overall posture. If needed, we may take X-rays to evaluate curvature severity.

Create a Care Strategy
Dr. Del will create a custom care plan tailored to your age, degree of spinal curvature, and lifestyle. This may include gentle adjustments, mobility exercises, posture correction techniques, and supportive therapies.

Prevent Progression
With consistent care, we’ll focus not only on symptom relief but on supporting spinal strength and function over time to help prevent further curvature.
